Description: Exceptional carved shell cameo of a beautiful woman wearing a high relief crown of flowers in her hair and a pearl necklace around her neck. The artist of this cameo was highly skilled, shown in the intricate detailing of this cameo. Most likely this cameo was carved in Italy. It is set in a simple 14K gold mounting with a safety clasp. The back plate of the mounting is gold filled and the actual mounting that holds the cameo acid tests 14K gold. Dimensions are 2" long by 1 1/2" wide. Excellent condition, absolutely no flaws or chips or hairlines. This brooch has been in my personal collection for over 25 years.
