The School Reader. Second Book Containing Easy Progressive Lessons in Reading and Spelling by Charles W. Sanders. Published in Philadelphia, PA by Sower, Barnes and Co. Book has some small engraving illustrations. There is some anti-Mexican passages in the book. See photos. Also the inscription inside front cover reads W.B. Trout, 1886, Malvern, Berks Co. PA. The front and back end pages also have some penciled numbers and math problems written. 204 pages and measures approx. 6 1/2 x 4 1/2". The books cover and pages are very fragile. Cover paper and leather spine are wearing off, breakage and tearing on spine, covers tearing from binding. Pages are mostly still attached, front end page is loose. Pages have antique wear, discoloration, foxing, tearing at edges, some small holes from insects possilby, very fragile. On back pages there looks like ink spots on several pages.
