Description: Struck at the New Orleans Mint while under CSA (Confederate States of America - Civil War issue) control, determined by the presence of a die crack that begins along the obverse rim and slowly passes the left side of the β6β in the date on its way to Miss Libertyβs base . - PCGS VF details grade is rather harsh on this one as the details grade mentions damage but its only small scratch area to the left of the obverse. The coin is actually quite pleasing with superb natural uncleaned surfaces and to be honest on a different day or submission would likely come back VF30 non details. A superb piece of American history and a rare opportunity to get a non SHIPWRECK corroded non eye appealing version from the SS Republic. This one is eye appealing and rare !
