Description: The 1873-S is a tough date for the chopmarked US trade dollar series. This raw example boasts VF/XF details and is heavily chopped, with a mix of Chinese character chops, other script and pseud-Chinese chops, a Latin letter "K" on the obverse, and a deep cut on the obverse and punch on the reverse. Chop mark collectors will recognize "仁" C-55 ("ren" meaning "benevolence"); "光" C-65 ("guang" meaning "light"); and "禾" C-84 ("he" meaning "millet") on the obverse and "水" C-13 ("shui" meaning "water"); and "杏" C-162 ("xing" meaning "apricot") on the reverse; among many others. Feel free to ask any questions and thank you for looking.
