Description: This is a 1924 New York University Album yearbook. It is 99+ years old and in fair condition. There are individual photos of graduates as well as group photos of members of the junior, sophomore, and freshman classes. There are group photos of members of the football, track, and basketball teams. Among notables pictured is Emile Zola Berman, who went on to have a distinguished career as a defense attorney. He is pictured on page 32. Wikipedia writes Emile Zola Berman (November 3, 1902 – July 3, 1981) was an American criminal defense lawyer. He was named after the French novelist Emile Zola (1840–1902). During World War II he was an intelligence officer where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. In 1969, Berman was part of the defense team of Sirhan Sirhan , the assassin of Robert F. Kennedy. Berman received criticism for defending an avowed anti-Zionist but countered his critics by stating that he was defending Sirhan's rights and not his beliefs. The book: The yearbook is in fair condition. It is 10 1/4" X 8" with 191 pages including advertising. The hinges are cracking and the covers are held on with tape. The front covers shows "The Album 1924" in gold lettering along with the NYU seal. There are no loose or missing pages. The edges of the covers have tears and losses. There is no writing in the book.
