Description: Certified by ANACS in the 1990's as XF45 Brass Planchet. But almost all other "brass" WWII cents are 85% to 90% copper and 10% to 15% zinc and tin. Certified by Collectors Universe (PCGS's parent company) on June 27, 2023 as 15.87% platinum, 12.89% gold, 46.77% copper, 9.8% zinc, 9.77% tin, 2.23% palladium, 2.59% silver (mean analysis). Includes the hardcopy of the 6/27/23 XRF analysis report from Collectors Universe (click the fourth and fifth image). The normal composition is 95% copper, 5% zinc and tin. Photos on CU report are of this coin. One known of ANY denomination that we could trace. Certainly a WWII experimental due to the presence of gold, platinum, palladium, silver, and three expected metals. Almost all other Lincoln cents that contain precious metals were plated with them outside the mint, as proven by their tiny (and often wildly inconsistent if circulated) percentages at each of multiple test spots. But this coin has much higher percentages of each of the noted four precious metals than plating could suggest, as well as relatively consistent proportions at each test spot. It is the real deal, a true gold, platinum, silver, palladium, etc. wartime penny.
