Description: 1943 Mercury Dime Actual Weight: 2.46gm Actual Diameter: 17.87mm On the Obverse there is an extension on the top of the vertical line of the B. This is not metal movement from a hit as there is no source. This is not likely a die chip since it is uniform, tapered down to the field, and follows the vertical line of the B. Our educated guess assumes this is a die dent whereby a geometric shape hit the die. This caused a dent in the die which translates into the raised portion on the coin.
