Description: This listing is of a very nice 1966 50 Cent coin of Australia. This is one of the first Australian decimal coins. Struck at the Royal Australia Mint, it is composed of 80% silver and 20% copper. No other decimal silver coins were struck for circulation other than the 1966 50c piece. Later in the 1960's a 12-sided copper-nickel variety was introduced (see separate listing, if available). So this ended up being a really interesting one-year Half Dollar type.
