1969 TRANSOGRAM Baseball Card #54 PETE ROSE Cincinnati Reds

Description: The 1969 Transogram baseball set consists of 60 hand-cut cards measuring the standard-size 2-1/2" by 3-1/2". Each blank-backed card was printed on the back of the Transogram figurine box of that player. The bright yellow cards appear with full-color posed photographs bordered with a rounded white outline and a dotted line to designate the proper cutting edge. Below the photo is the players name in red with his position and team name in black as well as his personal information including batting side and throwing arm. These unnumbered cards were intended to be cut from the boxes, but since kids with scissors don’t always cut the straightest lines, they can be difficult to find in high quality. The cards are distinguishable and unique, hold their value and continue to be in high demand. Despite the cards not carrying a card number, boxes held a number along the flap and were numbered in alphabetical order. Highlights for this set include Hall of Famers Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, Carl Yastrzemski, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Ernie Banks, Tom Seaver, Hank Aaron and Roberto Clemente as well as Pete Rose. As mentioned above, the card is hand cut, so the edges aren't perfectly straight and there are a couple of creases, but nothing that completely ruins the eye appeal of the card. Has a gritty appeal, kind of like Charlie Hustle himself!
