Description: This is a two coin set featuring a 1971 D Eisenhower (Ike) dollar and a 1971 D Kennedy half dollar. Both coins were minted at the Denver mint and have been circulated, but are now in coin flips and ready to be added to your collection! Eisenhower dollars were minted for a very short time (only 7 years) from 1971 - 1978 and had relatively lower coins produced in comparison to the coins minted recently, making them rarer to find in circulation today. They are still an iconic piece of history and sought after by collectors. The Kennedy half dollar was first minted in 1964 as the successor to the Franklin half dollar. 1964 marked the transition from silver coins to a clad composition (except for collectors sets), but Kennedy half dollars maintained a 40% silver composition from 1964-1970. 1971 marked the first year for a completely copper/nickel clad composition for the half dollar, and this is the composition still used to date. This set of coins has passed through many hands and been witness to over 50 years of history. Don’t miss your chance to add them to your collection today! Coins come shipped in coin flips and bubble mailer for added protection. If you have any questions about this item or anything else in my shop, please feel free to contact me at anytime. Thank you!
