Description: 1977 Hess Tanker Truck w/ Box Inserts And Battery Card - Complete - This 1977/ 78' Hess truck is in excellent condition and comes complete in its original box with original top and bottom box inserts and battery instruction card- This truck has been stored in a cool, dry closet in basically new, unused and un-displayed condition inside its original box for decades- The original box is in very good condition with only very light wear from storage- The truck is in excellent condition with all original parts fully intact and no breakage or cracks- The decals are in very good condition with some light wear from age- The battery compartment is clean and free of any previous leakage or corrosion- The switch is a little finicky and the lights only go on when the switch is positioned somewhere between the fully on position and the off position. If the switch is pushed all the way to the ON position, the lights do not light up - it needs to be about 3/4 of the way to ON- With the switch positioned to its "sweet spot" the lights shine brightly, except for the passenger side headlight which does not light up for some reason. I believe it to be a factory defect as the truck looks to have never been used, though I cannot confirm this The Hess tanker truck from 1977 and early 78' are highly collectible today especially in like-new condition in their original boxes with all original inserts and battery card like this one. The only issue with this one is that the switch needs to be positioned about 3/4 of the way to on for it to light up, and when it does the passenger side headlight does not illuminate.
