Gitty Crafter Supply from American-made materialsTThese laser-cut fretting scale templates are cut from 0.020 inch (0.51mm or 20 thousandths) thick clear plastic sheet, and allow you to quickly, easily and accurately mark a neck of fretboard with the fret positions for the scale you choose. These templates include 24 frets, and also have cutouts for the fret indicator circles and side position markers. Just use a sharp pencil or a fine-point marker (like the fine-tip Sharpies) and you'll have your fret marking done in no time! These templates also indicate the frets to skip to create diatonic (dulcimer-style) scale, so they can be used on dulcimers, canjos and Strumsticks and other similar instruments.INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:To use one of these templates, lay it on your neck or fretboard and then either measure or "eyeball" the location of the indicator marker cutouts to get it centered. The NUT slot should go over the neck-side edge of where your nut will go. You do not have to use all 24 frets on your neck, just use as many as work well with your instrument's design. Skip the frets marked at both ends with an "X" for pure diatonic/dulcimer scale. The frets marked with a double X (XX) are optional - if included, this fret will give you the "6.5" dulcimer fret, sometimes also known as the "blue note". CARE AND USAGE: There may be minor clouding or cutting stains on the surface of the plastic, left over from the laser cutting process, which can be wiped off with a paper towel.PLEASE BE CAREFUL when handling these templates. While the material they are cut from is nice and flexible, they will still crack if bent too sharply. We recommend hanging them up from a nail in a wall when not in use. If you do accidentally crack yours, you should be able to tape or superglue it back together, just make sure to get a nice tight join where it cracked so the scale won't be off.
