It takes Light requirements: Seeds and seedlings should be kept out of direct sunlight. full sun Soil & water preferences: grows well in well-drained soils. Saguaros have a relatively long lifespan, often exceeding 150 years. They may grow their first side arm around 75–100 years of age, but some never grow any arms. Arms are developed to increase the plant's reproductive capacity. Growing Instructions: Place seeds on top of a moist cactus mix soil. Lightly cover them with the same soil and using a spray bottle moisten the top of the tray. Do not over water. Soil should be most but not soggy. Cover the tray or pot with a humidity dome or plastic wrap and leave in a bright area without direct sunlight. Within 10 days you should see small green pinhead starting to spout. Leave under the humidity dome for a couple of months then slowly start to harden the seedlings. I usually water them once a month using a spray bottle to avoid over watering them. Be patient... Saguaros grow slowly from seed, and may be only 6.4 mm (1⁄4 in) tall after two years. Saguaros may take between 20 and 50 years to reach a height of 1 m (3 ft 3 in)
