Description: Up for sale here are 325 Grams or about 11.5 Ounces of Southwest / Arizona Rim Country Emory Oak acorns. These acorns or "Bellotas" are loved by the local Apache tribes and used to make soups and stews, and other food items. I have planted and sprouted these, but they may be past their prime for that purpose. They tend to sprout during the monsoon and loose viability after that, about the end of August or early September. There are oaks everywhere in North America, but the Emory Oak is the one with the least bitterness, and one of the few or the only one that can be eaten without leaching in all of North America. I eat a few of these when I am outside during the season almost every day. They have an interesting flavor. They are not bland at all. Hard to describe... You will be receiving just what you see in the photos. (Not the bowl of course, my wife would not be happy). Please see the photos as they complete the description. I am happy to answer your questions. Thanks!
