Description: Listing is for an ADCOM GFA 535 (65 watt per channel) DUAL-MONO POWER AMPLIFIER in excellent condition with the exception of minor scuffs (not scratches) on top panel only which could likely be removed if necessary, the aluminum faceplate/front panel is free of scratches and/or defects. The unit has been fully tested and found to be in perfect working order.. A matching ADCOM Pre-Amplifier is also available here at AudioPartsPlus while supplies last. The original packaging is not included however the unit will be safely packaged to be shipped to your location. Internally, the 65 watt per channel (some say more like 90wpc) GFA-535 II's build quality is up to Adcom's usual high level. Low-noise, metal-film resistors and precision film caps populate the printed circuit board, while the pcb layout minimizes long wiring runs throughout. The two-transformer dual-mono power supply is quite a bit beefier than normally seen in this price range, with each transformer's 50VDC supply rails smoothed with a 6800µF/63V electrolytic cap bypassed with a 0.22µF film cap. Input RCA jacks are high-quality, Tiffany-style, gold-plated types and A/B speaker connections feature x4 twist-lock jacks. The front panel features three LEDs: one to indicate that the thermal-protection circuit has been tripped, and two to indicate "instantaneous distortion alert"—While testing the unit, none of these lamps were illuminated even when driven at higher levels for any length of time, I was quite impressed when powering either my ENERGY C-9 or MB Electronics (Quart) series one 980S tower speakers without hesitation. This is a very capable dual mono amplifier that has a lot of guts to go around especially in such a small package.
