Description: Roughly 36 x 12” framed. Signed “Angelo Perrone 2021” — this is an original. Some nicks and scratches to frame. It appears as though the picture was framed before it was fully dry, as there are some paint blotches on the lightweight frame. The frame feels like it may have a splash or two of white spray paint on it, too. Figure on replacing the frame --- it is nothing special. Angelo Perrone has been painting in mixed media for the last 60 years. His paintings show the changes of seasons in the New England area. A larger part of his paintings are more modern in nature. When viewing his paintings, you can almost imagine yourself in the scene. The brush strokes used in various paintings of his are oriental in flavor; stemming from his much acclaimed ability as a calligraphist. His paintings serve as a visual vehicle to transport you to another time and place, striking a pleasant memory, or to spark an imaginary experience. Mr. Perrone grew up in Harlem NY, was educated at the High School of Music and Art (LaGuardia HIS) then at the prestigious Cooper Union Art School in New York City. He studied under great artists like Nicholas Marsicano and with refugees from the Bauhaus school. He received a BFA in Fine Arts. He was also awarded a scholarship to study painting at Lincoln College at Oxford University in England. After his studies, He pursued a career as a book designer and Art Director for Select Editions (Condensed Books) and non fiction series books to include specialty books for the Reader's Digest Corporation.
