Description: This beautiful antique all silk cloth Chinese doll is dressed in the traditional style of a Manchu Court Lady. She is dressed in style from the early 1900's and over 100 years old. Her face and hands are Silk and her complete outfit and slippers are silk. Her black straight skirt, blue long sleeve dress with side slits and opening with embroidered black trim, with beige woven floral vest embroidered beige trim. Both have tiny black frog fasteners. They show age by fraying, tears on black skirt bottom and right sleeve. Her silk face is painted with a formed nose. She is hard stuffed and sounds like she is stuffed with excelsior or straw; she is not jointed. Her fingers are stitched down. Her headpiece has embroidered flowers and trim decorations. Her headpiece is in two parts and has two faux pearls on the headband wrap. Her hair, which is silk yarn can be seen on the back of her head. Her silk slippers do show some light wear on sole edges.
