Description: I've had this beautiful gate bell for so long and don't remember where it came from. It has a wonderful clean tone, and someone needs to use it and love it, instead of it hanging in my garage. It has an Arts and Crafts / Mission look, maybe even Art Nouveau, and I believe it was hand-cast. The material is not Iron, a magnet does not stick to anything but the chain, which makes me think it's Brass, Bronze or Copper. It has a slight patina of verdigris on Copper, the blueish color we love. The overall length is 25.5" long with the chain. The bell is 6" x 3 3/4" and the two links are 5.5" long. The "links" are cast of the same material and slightly twisted. Unfortunately, there is a black cable tie holding them together... I don't know what was originally there. The bell is connected to the link with a wire hook, which also holds the 3" clapper, which is made of the same non-ferrous metal. The slit in the side allows for a clear, crisp tone, a pleasure to hear. It weighs 1 pound 9 ounces and all patina is original.
