Description: A fine English sterling silver tray or salver by whom I believe may be the London silversmith John Kramer. The tray is raised on three feet and decorated with an elaborately pierced rim with extensive bell flower garlands interspersed with plaques and urns. The tray is engraved with a nice armorial crest at the center and with fabulous and extensive engravings of the four seasons. A nice size and useful tray, a little larger than most card trays. The tray is hallmarked on the underside and on the pierced rim with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard’s head crowned for London (only on the back), the date letter “Q” for 1771 (only on the back), and a maker’s mark of IC for John Cramer (I believe). The engraving at the center of the tray is worn, but otherwise the condition is good. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs that can be seen. The tray measures 7 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. The weight is 12.1 ounces. Condition: Good estate used condition. Expect scuffs and scrapes, oxidation/tarnish, and imperfections.
