Description: Globe-Wernicke was first established in 1899 When Otto Wernicke, owner of Wernicke Furniture Co mouth the Globe Company. Wernicke also purchased the Fred Macey Co which also made the well know stacking barrister bookcases. The Globe Wernicke company was well know for its quality and craftsmanship, but mostly known for their stacking book shelves. Globe Wernicke Stacking Barristers oak, antique bookcase has four sections each having a glazed door that lifts and slides back using a brass handle. The last picture in the photos depicts the one blemish on the set of the crack that is on the top of the stacking piece. The rest of the stacking shelves are in very good condition considering the age of the piece of which has been in the the family for at least 100 years. Local pickup only. Thanks for looking!
