This is a unique find and what a detailed Mary Gregory scene on the lid that depicts a woman sitting in front of an easel with her paint brush and supplies in hand. Note the sailboats in the water and a reading book resting in the grass. This box is featured on an ornate silverplated stand that measures 8 3/4″ wide by 6 3/4″ deep and stands 6″ high. The bottom is stamped by ‘Meriden Silver Plate Co. – Quadruple Plate’, the maker of this stand. Again, exceptional all original condition.
