Description: Pretty good shape for being over 100 years old, the paperboard is warped and has stains, wood is nice. Has green felt and black painted wood, comes with everything showen 3 purple carbon sheets.Comes with J.S. Staedtler Globe Trotter 933 soft pencil. Those flexible white pieces with the small clips on them used to contain gelatin on the surface. They were called ‚films‘. It has probably dried out or evaporated by now. They were stored in the underside of the apparatus. To use it, you took one of the gelatin films out and attached it on the top, where that green felt is. You then created a master using the purple carbons and placed the master face down on the gelatin. After about five minutes, you took the master off, and then laid your copy paper, one sheet at a time, on the gelatin to make copies from the image on the gelatin. When finished, you stored the gelatin film under the machine, and the image would slowly sink down into the gelatin over a few days, and it could be re-used. This antique Copymaster Hectograph machine was manufactured by Pruitt in Chicago. It is a rare piece of history and would be a great addition for collectors of vintage office equipment. It is a must-have for those who appreciate classic printing technology and want to own a piece of the past.
