Description: Up for sale is ONE Blue Canadian Meat Token. This token was issued in Canada and was redeemable for meat. It is dual language with the words Meat and Viande written in the inside. This type of token also has a unique feature in that it was made with a hole in the center Ration Tokens were issued towards the end of WW2 (1944-1945). The tokens served as "change" when someone purchased a rationed food item using ration stamps. Many foods/items were rationed including meats, canned goods, gasoline, coffee, and sugar. In the US there were both red and blue tokens. This token is new and was never used. There may be some slight wear from storage, but no discoloring from handling. Completely original, no repros! See pics for details. A great piece of WWII history. 75 years old!!!
