Description: Book description: Published by Jonathan Cape in 1958, this is the 1st edition, 1st impression of 'Dr No' by Ian Fleming. There is no dust-jacket and the final end-paper is missing. The black boards (without the dancing lady) are in very good condition with no damage. The silver titles, etc. are bright and untarnished. The pages are clean, white and tight throughout. Someone has coloured the text block with red marker. It has been done neatly and the red has not bled into the pages but it is rather odd. Pages 21 and 23 are creased at the bottom right-hand corner. This is a very collectable first edition, even with its idiosyncracies and would look very well on the shelf. I have priced it accordingly.
