This is a great old colonial style, rosewood, 8 Day clock dating back to the late 1840's. It was made by the Ansonia Brass and Copper Co. which apparently became the Ansonia Copper and Brass Co. in the late 1840's, and them the Ansonia Brass and Clock Co, in 1851. The original label is worn, but still very readable. It has the original 8 day time and strike movement that is in good running and striking condition. The beautiful old case is in very good condition for its age. It is still mostly in the original finish so shows the kind of age you would expect to find on a 170 year old clock. The original hand painted dial is worn and faded, but does match with the clock well. This is a somewhat rare and hard to find clock with historical significance that will enhance any collection. It measures 18¼" tall x 11½" wide x 5" deep. It comes complete with a key and the original pendulum. Payment Ebay makes it pretty easy to pay for purchases in just about any way you choose. If a clock is sold as "in running condition," it means that we have test run it before listing it and feel confident that it will run for you.
