Must have been for someone important. details:Gorgeous Antique Ornate Beautiful Buckle w Antique Ornate Belt. Looks early.the Buckle is phenomenal with a front Kutch style engraved repousse design that is stunning. the design is repousse or etched into the brass & a turquoise cabachon stone at the center. Buckle has a very ornate edge. Buckle measures 4.5" across x 3.5" top to bottom. back of buckle has a brass rectangle slot to insert a belt to wrap thru & the other side has a curved hook to fit into a squared metal piece that is sewn into the belt at the other edge of the belt -- the belt is created w an Elaborate very Lavish ornately dense gold gilt threading embroidered onto a burgundy velvet material. the burgundy material is attached to a second side which is the backside of the belt & is a brown silk feel material that is the back side.Measurements of belt are 43" end to end plus a 2 3/4" brown end flap. the belt is 2.25" across.
