Elegant Antique Georgian 18K 15K Gold Purple Enamel Pearl Ring 1881 Size 6.75

Description: A fabulous antique Georgian solid 18k and solid 15k gold purple guilloche enamel and pearl ring, the band hallmarked to 1881. This truly stunning and nicely sized ring looks to have started life off in the late Georgian era-circa 1830-as most likely a hairpin and then was converted to a ring in the 1880s, the solid 15k yellow gold closed-back face has the most gorgeous lilac-purple gently curving guilloche enamel framed in silver which glows wonderfully in the light, the enamel with carved decorations underneath with a tiny central flower with sun ray designs coming from it leading to a strawberry seed edge, the glowing purple enamel framed perfectly by a halo of 22 silvery-white natural pearls, the ring with a gently graduating solid 18k yellow gold band-a true joy to look at! The band has English hallmarks with the crown for gold, '18', the Birmingham anchor and date letter 'g' for 1881. The band tests for 18k gold, the head tests for 15k gold and silver. The ring is approximately a size 6 3/4. The ring measures approximately 22mm x 16mm across the stones. The enamel plaque measures approximately 16.5mm x 10mm. The pearls measure about 2mm. The ring rises approximately 4mm above the finger and weighs approximately 6.1 grams. The ring has a repair to the enamel at one end which feels smooth to the touch otherwise the ring is in very good condition with all over general wear including some discoloration and minor losses to a few of the pearls' nacre.
