Description: Hibiscus × rosa-sinensis, known colloquially as Chinese hibiscus, China rose, Hawaiian hibiscusYou will get 3 semi-rooted Exotic Red Tropical Hibiscus in a 4" pot ( I grow them 3 per pot in case you want to make a braided treeTropical Hibiscus are fairly easy to grow . When you get the plant and put it in a sunny window , water it and love it , it will grow quickly.Follow my directions and i guarantee you will have a full beautiful plant that you can put outside and show off in the Spring. Leave them in the grow pot until they are fully rooted , transfer them to a bigger pot no more than 6" so they get enough water , keep the soil moist and by the Spring they will be ready for a bigger pot. Tips for Success: • Sun, sun and more sun. Water Water and feed• They are warm-growing plants and suffer if subjected to cool temperatures over extended periods. As a rule, keep temperatures above 60°F, especially in the winter. The plants won't die but they will drop their buds • Water on visual soil dryness or plant wilt quickly but they will spring back. Severe wilt can hurt them. Watering is critical , especially for the babes• They are heavy feeders and need fertilizer applied on a regular basis if you want flowers. Weekly in summer heat. Do not use fertilizer until they have rooted , the babes you get will be in fertilized soil and will not need fertilizer for a month or so I will tell you my own experience in growing this beautiful braided tree that I have had for more than 10 years. It is a hardy sun and water lover. It has bloomed for me year round , outdoors in summer and in front of a sunny window in winter. It is always thirsty for water and hungry for fertilizer. The mother plant has produced about 50 plants from cuttings that I have given to friends and family, sold from my yard and greenhouse sales and now offer to you. Love it , water it , feed it fertilizer ( when it is one month old ) and keep it a sunny spot and you will have a beautiful flowering tree or bushy shrub, depending on how you raise it. If you want a braided tree it takes about 5 years before you can begin to braid it, and longer to grow because you must continuously cut off the stems as they grow but if you have patience it is easy to do. My tree was twice the size it is now because I have had to cut it back drastically to fit it through the door to bring it outside every year, I think I have come to love my bushy plants more than the tree because the flowers are more abundant.
