Hilversum."Lower right margin states "P.P. 670-144"38.5" x 22.75" on heavier weight poster paper An amazing vintage KLM flight route travel poster map! Great pastel coloring. This came from a Southern California person who had a number of travel memorabilia items from their adventures around the world from the 1940s and later. Note the route focuses on the Dutch East Indies, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and surrounding countries! There are a few other Menting KLM world maps, but not as many that are this specific Winter 1948-49 version - perhaps only one other published example. Map will be shipped rolled which is how it appears to have been stored for many years. Used, as-is. Paper appears aged. When rolled, the outermost strip of backside (blank side) has a slightly darker shading due to light exposure compared to the backside that was covered by the rolling. Small creases and tears. The most obvious is the 3/4"-1" tear on right hand border edge. Small marks and spots on back. One pencil tip sized spot stains through the paper and looks like a doorway on one of the huts.
