Regarding pre-CBS vs early CBS, we'd like to clarify a possible point of contention with early 1965 black panel Fender amps. CBS did purchase Fender in the first week of 1965, but to our understanding many Fender aficionados wouldn't consider this amp to be "CBS era" because CBS hadn't made any significant changes to the circuit yet, it's still marked as "Fender Electric Instrument Company" and not "Fender Musical Instrument Company" and because it was built so early in 1965 with pre-CBS parts to pre-CBS specs. Apparently some people feel that 1965 is the hard cutoff date for pre-CBS though.
