Description: GIFFORD WORDEN. Signed lower right. Listed artist. Spectacular quality original oil, depicting a man by his lakeside country home. Circa 1940’s. This is a beautiful strong piece, housed in what is believed to be its original frame. Condition: With some relatively straightforward repairs, this will be a stunner on the wall. Note that the canvas has two tears and a hole. Tear 1 is T shaped above the right chimney of the main part of the house. Tear 2 is in the sky to the left of the large tree. The hole is in the bottom left corner on the edge of the grass and the pathway. The frame is in surprisingly good condition for its age. Upon quick inspection, I see a chip in the right corner and what looks like a knot that let go on the side of the frame (not visible from the front). Don’t get me wrong, this is a stunner—we just overdisclose so there are no surprises. With minor repair, it will be a stunner and worth multiples of list price. Frame: 26x32 inches.
