The flyer for the Villa Seurat series edited by Miller at the Obelisk Press measures 8.5 x 5.5 inches and is in poor condition with remains of tape darkening the edges and chipping and loss to top edge. The 4 pp. flyer advertising the works of Miller with blurbs and promos from various critics and authors, including Paul Rosenfeld, Blaise Cendrars, Raymond Queneau, George Orwell, Edmund Wilson, Aldous Huxley, William Carlos Williams, Cyril Connolly and H. L. Mencken (among others) also is in fair to poor condition with tanning, tape stains, edgewear and chipping. The flyer for "Between Heaven and Hell" was sent to a Miller collector in LA in 1962, postmarked from Big Sur with Emil White's return stamp and is probably addressed in his hand. The essay on Miller's "water paintings" measures 14 x 8.5 inches, was originally in Japanese by Ichiro Fukuzawa and translated by Shigeo Kitano; it originally appeared in Geijutsu-Shincho, Tokyo 1955; unclear where or when this was published, but we assume by Emil White and probably ca. 1960. It has some reproductions of Miller's work in bluetone at top. Light wear. Very uncommon; OCLC locating NO copies.
