No. 0272), franked with the 10-cent*, 1-shilling & 10-shilling values on the FRONT, plus an extra 10-cent* and 15-cent stamp on the REVERSE, was mailed from Nairobi on 23 December 1963, and received in Bremen on 30 December 1963. * The 10-cent stamps on this cover are the 200-screen printing, issued in coils in 1961 (S.G.184a) • ENCLOSED with this cover is a RARE, WELL-PRESERVED and NEATLY FOLDED PRINTED RECEIPT from the E.A. Posts & Telecommunications Dept to the addressee, dated 13 DECEMBER 1963. The receipt lists all the QEII stamps and postal stationery of this series, including the 5-shilling stamp booklet, souvenir folders, aerogrammes, embossed postcards, envelopes and registered envelopes, Reply Coupons, etc., which were available from the Philatelic Bureau at the time - A RARE BONUS !! The administrative breakup of the K.U.T. territory on gaining Independence from Great Britain, began with Tanganyika (8 December 1961), then Uganda (8 October 1962), then Kenya (11 December 1963). • SCANNED IMAGES are affected by my scanner - some are a little lighter than they should be, some are more enhanced.
