Description: This is the early portion of the original definitive scholarly and critical Latin edition of the Leonine Aquinas, published by order of the Vatican, each succeeding volume coming out in different subsequent years, starting with the first volume in 1879. There are later editions. It is still being published now. It is online. This portion contains both the Summa Theologica and the Summa Contra Gentiles, as well as other works.This is the most important edition since the Renaissance, and is in use by scholars theologians historians and philosophers today. It contains essential commentaries.This partial set is rare. I can find none for sale. It should be held at the reserve desk of a major library, seminary, or similar place somewhere, or in the library of a Latin or Catholic antiquary book collector. These volumes are oversize and heavy. They would be expensive to ship anywhere. The last volume is dated 1930. Sold AS IS.
