Product Description: This offering is for a used Texas Instruments Ti-84 Plus graphing calculator that is not working. I bought this calculator new a couple of years ago for my youngest daughter. Of course it does not get much use over the summer. So when she turned it on to begin this new school year, the screen was frozen and none of the keys were responsive, except for the On/Off button (and even this was limited). I've "played around with it" for a while and have done all the stuff people have suggested...including a fresh set of batteries (and this includes the watch battery). None of this stuff has worked. More specifically, when I remove and re-install the batteries, the screen will go blank (as in the first and third picture above). The fourth picture then shows the screen when I push the "On" button (and keep in mind the cursor in the upper left-hand corner is not blinking). Then there is the fifth picture that shows a blank screen, except for that same non-blinking cursor in the upper left-hand corner. This is the screen I get when I attempt to turn the calculator off. The only way to truly turn the calculator off and get rid of that non-blinking cursor is to briefly remove one of the "AAA" batteries. In terms of cosmetic condition, the calculator still shows well and includes it's protective case that slides over the screen and keys. It's only a couple of years old and spent most of it's time in my daughter's backpack. So if there is someone out there that is able to fix this calculator, then you are getting one in good shape at a deep discount. Finally, this is a "for parts/not working" calculator, so it's an "as is" sale and I will not take it back on a return. So please consider this to be a "final sale" with no return/refund options should you decide to purchase it. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale.
