Description: Mark Antony Legionary denarius, 32-31 B.C., R.S.C. 27, approx.18 mm, 3.3 gms. The obverse shows a war galley traveling to the right, rowers heads visible above the side, and a mast at the prow with banners. The obverse legend is "ANT. AVG. III VIR. R. P. C.". There is a light banker's mark in the lower left field, below the left end of the galley. The reverse shows a Legionary eagle between two standards. Across the bottom is "LEG II" for legion number two. This piece shows old cabinet, envelope toning with some light blue color in some of the fields. The piece, as with many of this whole issue, was struck at traveling mints. This piece is struck off-center, but shows more detail than is evident at just a first glance. This is a genuine original coin, not a copy, replica or reproduction. EX. Gordon Reed Collection, 1 Sept 1989.
