Description: The 1993 Mongoose Amplifier rocked the mountain bike world with its debut; built alongside the Amp Research B2 in Pennsylvania and sold only as a frame fork combination, the 2 were identical other than decals. The front suspension was a parallelogram design, lightweight and effective. The rear had a strut suspension with "Horst link" pivot. These early bikes were built with a twin downtube that championed its light weight, but as riders broke them they were replaced by the Amplifier2 and Amp B3 which had a single downtube. Original twin tube frames have become difficult to find. This bike has a complete 1993 Shimano XT kit that has been freshly cabled with a new chain and new Panaracer tires. It rides, shifts, and brakes beautifully. The front fork has a softened urethane bumper under the front spring, so the front suspension compresses to its full travel under weight, but it is safely rideable under gentle conditions. The fork has a matching serial number to the frame. I redid the main decals and chain stay, and will include the rest of the decal kit. Venn seatpost and extralite embroidered seat with titanium rails included, I will remove pedals unless buyer asks for them. Wheels have original parallax hubs and steel spokes.
