It is better than the geared center columns made by Gitzo and Novoflex, which have a nasty habit of twitching sideways when the direction of the movement is reversed. This center column works fine on Leofoto Series 4 tripods, but on Gitzo tripods, it has to be precisely aligned for it to work. So it has two dots marked on it to make it easier to align it on Gitzo tripods. When you insert the center column into a Gitzo tripod, you will intuitively see how to align it so it fits perfectly. This Leofoto center column was tested on a Gitzo Series 5 Systematic tripod for fit.
