Product Description: Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a brief comment about the computers and related parts I have available for sale. Personal computers (and in particular desktop computers) have always been a hobby of mine. I've enjoyed tinkering with this stuff over the years and have accumulated a number of items during this time...some new and some used. I am not an expert on the subject...more of an enthusiast...but I will still do my best to answer any questions as it relates to my computer related listings. Thank you. Original Listing... This offering is for a new GIGABYTE GP-P750GM (750 watt) fully modular power supply. It's rated as an 80 PLUS Gold Certified unit and carries a 5 year warranty from the manufacturer. So it should be considered a decent quality unit from a respected brand. Although, this is one of those infamous power supplies from GIGABYTE that had a higher than normal failure rate. This was confirmed when some respected online reviewers stress tested a number of these units with similar results (a higher than normal failure rate). The company's response has generally been criticized, because some feel like there should have been a recall of these units. Instead, GIGABYTE essentially claimed the stress testing was extreme and under normal use case scenarios, these power supplies will be fine. As a result, GIGABYTE stopped short of a recall, but offered to replace any power supplies that fall in between a certain serial number range, at the customer's request. I tend to side with the stress testers that claim these power supplies do not perform up to their 750 watt 80 PLUS Gold standard. Although, I've also come to realize that if someone does not really push these power supplies to their limits, then they are probably okay. So that is what I am electing to do here in terms of determining a fair sales price. I sell name brand 500W semi-modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified power supplies for $49.99, and that will be my sale price for these units. The idea being that equating these units to decent quality 500 watt power supplies is a reasonable expectation and should never stress them to the point of a premature failure. Of course, anyone that purchases one of these units from me is still welcome to contact GIGABYTE and pursue an exchange. I honestly just don't have the time and have grown tired of staring at them sitting on the shelf. I'll end up taking a loss at this price, but in the interest of trying to be completely honest and fair, I just don't feel comfortable selling them for any more than what I would get for a decent quality 500 watt unit. As for some additional (and more general) background on my various new power supply units listed, I've purchased numerous units over the past few years and because the bike business is taking most of my time, I am unable to build as many computers as I would like. So I've decided to make some of these new power supplies available. This power supply has a number of different cables/connectors and since it's fully modular, you only plug-in what you need. This includes a 24-pin (20+4) main board cable/connector, an 8-pin (4+4) EPS/CPU cable/connector, two 8-pin (6+2) PCI-Express cables (with two connectors on each cable), two SATA cables (with four connectors on each cable) and a legacy peripheral cable (with three Molex connectors and one floppy drive connector). Lastly, there is a standard power cord and four screws (to mount the power supply) included with this offering. As I mentioned above, this is a new power supply that will come to you in it's original retail box/packaging. Additionally, the shrink wrap plastic is still intact, so this is truly a factory new unit (albeit, with some baggage...as discussed above). Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value).
