Description: Nova #1 Marvel Comics, 1st App & Origin Richard Rider, 1st App of Rhomann Dey & Robbie Rider 1st appearance and origin of Nova, Richard Rider, 1st appearance of Rhomann Dey, Corpsman of the Nova Corps, 1st appearance of Robbie Rider, brother of Nova, [January 2021 - the MCU maintains their intention to use Nova (Alexander & Rider) in a film / March 2022 - Deadline reports a source confirms a Nova project is in development] This series introduced us to Richard Rider, a young man who, a dying "Nova Centurion, gave extraordinary powers." Originally from the planet Xandar, these Nova Centurions acted as galaxy protectors. Having been deputized by the dying alien, Richard found himself with the ability to fly, incredible strength, and a degree of invulnerability. Although inexperienced, he was determined to use these powers to the best of his ability. After the conclusion of this series, Nova made an ill-fated appearance in ROM #24, where he lost his powers. As it turned out, the ability to use them had merely been submerged in his subconscious. This was revealed to Richard by Night Thrasher in New Warriors #1, when Night Thrasher dropped him off a building, literally scaring Ryder into regaining the power of flight. We try and describe comic defects that can not be easily seen, so we rely on the large images we provide, which normally show the front cover, back cover, side views, and centerfold, which will show the quality of the interior pages.
