The three volumes (thus far) of Automating are essentially “mop-up” collections of rare tracks from long-deleted compilations and singles. Steven has long been happy to contribute original pieces to various artist collections when asked, turning out some of his most amazing work in the process. The Automating series is where he chose to share with devotees, selecting only the very best of the lot… so we shouldn’t have to sell you on the quality of the pieces that made the final cut, though we will mention that the CD comes with one extra track. This is one AMAZING compilation, filled with the unworldly aural surrealism that makes NWW so deliciously unique. The typically headbending artwork from Steven’s visual alter ego Babs Santini (and insert with bonus artwork from Irr.App.(Ext.) frontman Mike Waldron) completes the package. Automating, Vol. 2 is currently out of print in all formats. The disc is near mint.
