The hand carved (not machine) cobalt blue cased glass has fine panels of calligraphy and deep carved cased glass.There were different periods & quality of Chinese Peking Glass. Importing compromised the quality of glass and the workmanship. The vase is made by an artist not a common factory worker. The depth of the cased glass, the finish of all edging and the calligraphy is superb. The base is the old white snow glass. The newer vases had cheaper white bases.The original cost of the vase was $680 over 35 years ago. There is an old box with price ~ an aftermarket museum box as was called. Box is in as is condition. If the buyer wants the old box, please note the shipping weight increases.The vase measures 3-5/8” top & approx. 3-1/2" diameter bottom, approx. 6” body diameter, & 12” high without stand. The total height with stand is 13" plus.
