They are 100% polyester and have a nice thick feel, not flimsy fabric. There is a large sand dollar in the center of the placemats and a signature by the artist. The border has several different types of smaller sea shells and a mosaic design element. The placemats are reversible - the opposite side is a solid ivory color. The sewn-on label is attached to the reverse side. Each placemat measures 18" x 12". The set has been stored in a pet and smoke free environment.
