Description: RARE Antique 19th C TREENWARE Hand Carved WOOD Paddle Scoop SHAKER (?) Tool PATINAThis is a wonderfully made older hand carved wood paddle or ladle or scoop or multiuse kitchen tool. We are not sure where is was made or who made it but it is a very nice classic example and is most likely from the mid 19th century or slightly later. It has the beautiful utilitarian look of early Shaker Community Made Wood or Treen-ware Tools - we have no provenance whatsoever. No matter who made it it is a wonderful piece with nice patina. A nice old surface finish which is hard to find in any condition. It is difficult to measure. It measures approx 8.5" from top of handle to end of shovel/ladle end portion. It is approx 3" Wide at widest portion end of base. It has a very neat carved handle end which comes to somewhat of a point. See all photos. This early item or tool is nicely turned from wood (could be maple or elm or any other type of wood. It may be lightly stained or is possibly even unstained- it is a smooth surface with signs of age. Shipping is $9.95 due to value of item with insurance.
