Description: Stunning vintage etching by German artist Blasius Spreng (1913-1987), depicting a nude woman beheading a man in bed (presumably Judith and Holofernes). Remarkable detail in this, with incredible contrast between the gruesome beheading in the foreground and a pastoral windmill in the background. Signed in pencil in lower right corner. Etching is centered on paper with impressed plate marks, the scene itself measuring 4.25” by 3.25”, with the total dimensions of the plate 9.5” by 7.25”, which is double-matted, under glass, and in a painted black wooden frame with wire for hanging on back. In excellent condition with minor wear to frame. Buyer to pay for item plus shipping.
