Description: I just love this cute little creamer by Royal Doulton! It has their unique shape of 8 rounded panels forming the creamer’s body, with an art deco squared off handle. It is trimmed in a black lacey border with bouquets of flowers on three sides. Makes me think of an English country garden. Royal Doulton made sets like this in the early 1900’s of earthenware. This piece appears to me to have the design under the glaze, although on one side part of a flower is missing, so maybe the paint hadn’t dried all the way when they applied the glaze. I have seen this particular pattern called Leeds Sprays, but I have some Leeds Spray and the design is similar but not the same. This backstamp of the lion perched on a crown over the intertwined D’s was used starting in 1902 till 1922 according to lovetoknow.com. This creamer is in excellent antique shape with no chips or cracks, but as is common with older glazed earthenware, it does have crazing. The glaze is still smooth and shiny. The creamer is 2 & 1/8 inches tall, and 4 & 1/2 inches long from spout tip to outer handle. It holds more than it looks like it would, 3/4 of a cup easily.
