Suitable to eliminate scratches comes out in the coarse sharpening preocess and its abrasive power is good. After testing the sharpening, the surface appears dense, but not quite so, as it feels like the slurry and iron filings sink into the whetstone. The slurry doesn't stick to the blade, making it easier to check for scratches or other marks. After use, thoroughly clean the sharpening surface before storing it. Please note that these are not for beginner sharpeners since they're harder to use. These are natural stones meaning that every single one of them are different so my measured sizes are not accurate.
