Description: Very rare 2 cent historic stamp affixed to a post card sent from Traverse City, Mich during the Great Depression in 1932, by my uncle to my mother while serving in a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp. The CCC was a Franklin Roosevelt New Deal program that employed millions of young men on environmental projects during the Depression. “Tervehdey” means Greetings in our Finnish language. This stamp commemorates the 200th birthday of George Washington, 1732-1932. Known as Scott #707, this is a Washington Bicentennial stamp.
