A Certified Swiss Chronometer, this 1960's genuine Chronometer comes with its original Hirsch black leather strap. The uniquely shaped gold rounded cushion case, plexi crystal, buckle and strap do show some scratches / dents, see photos. The watch is currently running with its hi-beat 36000A/h Zodiac cal. 78 movement. As with all vintage watches, it is not guaranteed and will need to be serviced / cleaned. Buying as-is, no returns. The watch has a high quality, beautiful gold and white dial with matching Luminescent markers and hands. Each second is marked around the dial circumference, emphasizing the high beat chronometer movement.This Zodiac Kingline chronometer watch has a fantastic retro vintage 1960s look. The sporty dial and angular cushion case design, helps it wear more boldly. What makes it particularly cool, however, is that it’s powered by a rare/uncommon 5Hz (36,000) beats per hour engine, as implied by its name. Its automatic movement was developed in joint collaboration with Doxa, Eberhard, Favre-Leuba, Girard-Perregaux, and Zodiac together. The Zodiac brand has had a great resurgence in interest from the collector community in the last few years both surrounding new and vintage timepieces. Most of this interest has been focused on the classic and historic Sea Wolf, Olympos, and Astrographic model ranges. That being said, Zodiac made a lot of different types of watches and this Kingline with a hi-beat automatic chronometer movement is a great example of the brand expertise across their range. The Kingline was one of two dresser lines from Zodiac in the 60s and 70s, with the other being the Goldenline.This very rare and stunningly beautiful Chronometer watch is a true collectors piece and a 'must have'.
