Description: What is it? We recently found this Rube Goldberg like, wooden gizmo at a Central Florida thrift store. The whole thing comes mounted within a very neatly constructed wooden box. There are 16 grooved wooden rings attached to a wooden dowel rod which, when powered, rotates the series of rings slowly and smoothly. The inside of the box is fitted with a 24-volt gear motor which powers the band driven wooden dowel rod. One side of the box features a series of 16 small hooks...all of the hooks are mounted in a downwards position. There is that fancy cut wooden piece, which runs the width of the box along the top side of the device, and which also serves to separate each individual grooved wooden ring. Whoever built this device did a most excellent job as all pieces and parts are joined neatly and looks to have been professionally built. The device appears to be some sort of mass produced, prefab kit but there are no part numbers or anything else which would indicate that this thing is anything other than a one of a kind. We took photos and tried using Google to do a picture search but no luck. We've shown the device to several people, and no one even has a guess. Do you have any idea what this is? Buy it now and let us know.
